Who is Aras MCP for?

PLM architects, Aras admins, and engineering IT teams who want Claude, Cursor, or custom agents to work against a live Innovator instance, without building an MCP layer from scratch.

How does authentication work?

Pass-through browser OAuth into Innovator. Tools run as the signed-in user. No shared service account. Your Aras ACL still applies.

Where does my data stay?

In tools-only mode (the default), MCP and PLM data stay on your infrastructure. Your LLM client processes prompts under its own policy. If you enable optional RAG, embeddings go to the inference provider you choose (OpenAI, OpenRouter, or Azure).

Do I need an embedding API key?

No, not unless you turn on docs RAG. Core AML, queries, schema, and vault tools work without it.

What do I get after requesting access?

We confirm eligibility, send private image access and Getting Started materials, and help you register the OAuth callback. Typical turnaround is within one business day.

Can I use this with Claude Desktop?

Yes. Aras MCP is built for Claude Desktop via Streamable HTTP and mcp-remote, and works with other MCP-compatible clients.

Is source included?

Docker image and Getting Started are included with the subscription. Source access is available with a paid subscription as listed.
